I'm a big fan of the Deep Dark Fears series so of course I had to get this book. And thankfully it didn't disappoint!Unlike the first installment, there's more original content and content you can't find on the Tumblr. Needless to say, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to others who love horror comics.

Very good. Krause's lovely art and light sense of morbid humor paired with slightly longer, more mysterious and somber stories make for an amazing combination. Sometimes when I have friends over to my place, and I'm showing them around and showing them my bookcase, I'll just pull this one off the shelf because I know it appeals universally to everyone I've met so far. Many times they get sucked in and don't care to see the rest of my place/books. I don't blame them!It's quite an enjoyable read.

I did not like this book - waste of money. Nothing new or creative here. Perhaps a new reader (4-5 years) might enjoy it simply because it is comic style and they'd be proud to read on their on, but the content (fears) are not that funny or creative. My teenager could have written creepier things and created better illustrations.

I’ve yet to read the entire thing (just received it today since I preordered it). The book itself is beautiful, along with the illustrations. If you haven’t heard of the Deep Dark Fears series, I HIGHLY recommend you check it out.

Loved reading these comics on Facebook and was happy to find there was an actual set of books that gathered these comics into one binding. The drawings were just as fun to read in person as they were to read online. My only complaint was there was 97 illustrations instead of 100 which I felt would have rounded out the book better, but it doesn't make or break the book for me.

Pre-ordered this book as soon as I saw it was available for pre-order, I've really enjoyed all of Fran's work for a while now, so of course I jumped at the opportunity to throw my money at him. The book was definitely high quality, I ordered the hardcover and I like the embossed logos on the front, and some good quality full color pages. 10/10 would buy again.

Great book to have out on a coffee table! Cute illustration and great conversation piece!

Fran Krause is so creative. You can relate to the deep dark fears in a humorous and playful way! I love it!

This is a book with lots of super images that artists have taken of work produced that falls within the title. The selections are lovely and it would be a nice gift for anyone who appreciates art and/or design. The one downfall is the descriptions provided with the images. These must be generated by the artists because the language used is not uniform, making it almost impossible to determine what is being said. There are attempts to describe what techniques were used to create each item, but the descriptions are not clear enough for one to be able to draw meaning from them in many cases.

Somehow I expected more from a Lark Crafts book. I've been making and selling pottery for lo these many years. I didn't find much I would truly new..but a nice retrospective!!

Love, love, love this book. So many great artists with wonderful pieces.

Fun book for Star Wars fans of all ages. The stylized art is very appealing. Would be a good book for a parent to read with a young Star Wars fan.

I bought a set of these books for my 4 year old nephew. He loves them and they are a good level for him to read with his mom and dad's help. My only complaint is that the pages are very thin feeling. It seems as if they may rip easily. For the price, the books are great.

Gave this to my son around his 6th birthday ... he loved it. Not to long, big pictures, good for any Star Wars fan.

I got this for my soon-to-be 10 yr old grandson bc it was easy for him to read but not too simple. The description says up to age 2, that's not right at all. You'd have to read it to a 2-yr old yes, that's true, but if you want a kid to engage in it by him/herself, they'd need to be older. Lots of nice color illustrations.

Jim Draeger is an architectural historian with the Wisconsin Historical Society with more than 20 years of historic preservation experience. From roadside architecture to North Woods resorts, Draeger celebrates the importance of ordinary buildings to our daily lives through his research, writing, and lectures. He shares a historic 1936 International-style house in Monona with his wife, Cindy, and son, Nick.Mark Speltz is a historian at American Girl and is completing a master's degree in history with a specialization in public history at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has worked as an independent researcher on exhibits for museums, including the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, and is active with several museums in Mineral Point, where he lives with his wife, Kari.

Wisconsin at its best

An ok book, not wonderful.

I picked this up at our library, with the idea that I would look at the pictures and captions, then return it. I did look at all the great station pictures, and the last two thirds or so of the book are current pictures of stations with their stories. This is really fun when you know where that stations are (there is one just down the street from my house). THEN, I started reading the text about the history of the gas station, including the onset of car ownership, filling up the old cars and new facilities to do so, the advent of road maps (there were no road signs or systematic highway numbering at the time), and the ups and downs of the station industry. I read this section in one sitting. There is so much that I didn't realize or even think of that kept me educated and entertained.

The best service yet - really fast.I live in WI and I spent quite a few holidays/summers filling cars up, I loved it!
