Eric Lanlard is amaster patissier.He has changed the face of British patisserie, earning himself a reputation for awe-inspiring cakes and a celebrity clientele.He has been twice winner of Continental Patissier of the Year and with numerous TV appearances, he is fast becoming a celebrity himself. His tv appearances include Masterchef:The Professionals, Mary Queen of Shops, Great British Bake Off and two series of Channel 4's Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard. Aware that there was a demand for inspirational cakes created on a bespoke basis, Eric launched Savoir Design in 2000, taking direct commissions for Cake Boy, his cake emporiumand cookery school.

A lot of good practical recipes, we are using them and liking the food. Very good puff pastry dough in this book, the one which worked!

If you haven't tried seafood pie before, this is the one to make. Banana rum tart was heavenly.Keep 'em coming Eric.

I like this book, but the recipes are a little complicated sometimes. The measurements are not always easy, but the finished products were always good. The lemon tart recipe is very tart and delicious.

Yum. There are plenty of recipes in this book I want to try. Great photos too.

This is a wonderful cookbook for those of us that love pies and tarts and of course those who wish some different recipes than those in some of the usual cookbooks. Examples of recipes included are: Moroccan pastille tart, scallop and zucchini crumb pie, calzone, West Indies chocolate tart, treacle tart. Then there is pumpkin pie, blueberry pie too.There are lovely colour photos to go with most of the recipes and some step by step photos. Especially good are those that show the texture of the various types of dough and pastry. Tips such as cooking cheesecakes slowly and letting it cool inside the oven helps to avoid cracks on the tops are included.There are quick savory bakes using store bought pastry. Pastry basics are included - determined beginning cooks could make these dishes, yet more experienced ones will find something new and different.There are some really distinctive combinations in some of the recipes.We have made and enjoyed the spring garden green tart and the pork and cider pie.
