This is a smashing debut for Domino Taylor. I loved everything about it. From the show burn romance to the action...even the lessons on fighting were entertaining. (Usually "school stuff" bores me, but Kai's stubbornness made it fun.) The descriptions are lush but not overlong, the setting and world-building is tight, the dialog snappy, and the characters are well-developed. As is the story arc.I'm looking forward to the next book. This one ends on a note that some may call a cliffhanger, because there are definite questions that remain unanswered. But it's not a cliffie like Polly Pureheart tied to the tracks with the train bearing down on her. I can wait. 😇Content rating is PG17 to R due to 1 or 2 fairly explicit sex scenes, and strong adult language.
Once again, I am blown away by the writing and the world-building that is done in one novel. It was a longer one, but I couldn’t put it down. Sorry, kids- it’s chicken nugget night!Kai is a kick butt heroine who doesn’t take anything from anyone, least of all Manu. Manu is strong and sensitive and TO DIE FOR! Seriously, I’d let him eat crackers in bed any day.The chemistry they have, and the serious butt kicking that is done by both of them makes me want to read more. I need more in this series, so write faster!
Very exciting, action packed and fun. Kai has gone from a normal human to something extraordinary. Along the way she met great friends, reconnected with family and a great love.

This was so good. I found this book on a syfy channel in honor of Aquaman TBR book list. I am so glad I picked it up. The premise, the characters, the plot, the villains, all that is at stake,..I loved it. I am just sad that I have to wait for book two.Most of the characters have so much going on in their lives besides the obvious - fighting and surviving the Gloom. Manu and his dad plus his burgeoning feelings for Kailani. Cosmas and his forbidden love. Kailani and her struggle to be the Queen that Atlantis needs and at the same time jumping in right when its citizens are jonesing for democracy because of the antiquated Atlantean class system (which has a lot to do with why Manu won't go for it with Kai). So many juicy tidbits.And just when the reader gets a glimpse of the Queen Kailani is fated to be....the book ends. WAAAA! It was still good and I will continue the series.
Domino has a way with her descriptions of her underwater world. Great sorry line. Loved the characters. The only things to critique would be it was a very slow burn, literally happened almost at the end of the book. Second thing would be that the cliff hanger was rather large. It felt like nothing got resolved by the end of the book. That’s kind of bothersome to me as a reader. This is clearly going to be a series of books so I expect it to take a few books to resolve the conflict. Nothing went full circle. I’ll keep reading the series though. Worth the time to read it.
I enjoyed this book. I have always loved the myth of Atlantis..read any book with it as part of is storyline. So when I saw that Vivienne Sage had one out I just had to read it..I'm truly glad I did. The characters were very real. Especially Kai the young woman whom all her life had assumed she was just irdinary..She was raised by a woman first as her foster child then as her adopted daughter. Shed been in the Navy and had a distinguishing career with them. After a horrible accident at sea left several coworkers dead..shed been drifting..one night shes attacked...okay that as far I am going as I hate reading reviews with spoilers in them. LolI recommend this book especially if like me you love Atlantis the legend....or is it?
There was solid world building and great character development. I loved the interaction between the the primary characters, the dialogues are some of the best that I have read. However, the romance is slow building with both the H and h fighting their attraction. Gave it 4 stars because the only sex is at the end of the book, and we're left with a sad ending, BIG cliffhanger (we are talking size of the Grand Canyon), and no HEA. Only hope that we don't have to wait a year to get the next book to see what happens. That said, I will be buying the next book. Love the characters and this world.
